I just created my own Button swap!

Swap-bot swap: Buttons Buttons Buttons!
BUTTONS BUTTONS BUTTONS swap!

If you aren’t a member of swap-bot.. maybe you should move your buns. :)

This is Buttons swap!
I realized that my stash was full of buttons that didn’t suit my taste, and I wanted to trade for some cute & cool ones. So I decided to create a button swap! Everyone loves (and needs) buttons! For sewing projects, card making, and any embellishments!

Description:

This swap is to expand our button stashes!

I have not found a swap like this yet, I decided to create my own.
You will send to your partner 20 MEDIUM to LARGE Buttons.
(if you send teeny tiny buttons, smaller than 1/4 inch, please send 2 tiny ones for each regular sized button. example: 10 medium and 20 tiny ones). Note: Very large buttons still count as 1 button!

This is a good opportunity to get rid of some buttons that we do not like, and to gain some awesome new ones for crafts and sewing projects. Send vintage, wood, leather, hand painted, metal, shaped, or plastic. Flat back or shanks. Bubble wrap if you plan to send delicate or glass buttons. Please no toggles or snaps. ONLY BUTTONS please. :)

Any question, feel free to Message me. This is my first swap. I will angel if need be, but please please try to send out your items. It’s great to get things on time. Let your partner know if you’ll be late. Everyone is very sympathetic. We’ve all got other swaps too! This isn’t a very long swap because it doesn’t require any real crafting. You have til July 15th to send out your buttons. :)

Come join in!

So a Whale, a Dino and an Elephant walk into a bar…

They had a few pints, shared a few tales and after a few hours, decided to call it a night.

Whale belongs to Ian, so he stayed at work (workaholic, he’s a better worker when he’s a got a few beers in him), while the rest went home to meet up with Dino’s sister, Dina. She made them some soup, sandwiches and ice cream sundaes!

They all get along pretty well. It was a very tiring night! They soon got washed up for bed, read a few pages of the classics.. and went to sleep at a reasonable hour.

The End. :)

——————–

I’ve been working on these critters for quite a while. Made with fluffy warm fleece, some felt and embroidery thread. They are finally complete! I also now have my official plush tags! (can you see them on the photos?? I feel more professional now. hehe) The front says A Very Good Coat Rack, and the back says “designed & handmade by: Dara Grieco”, and my etsy web address. :)

These Plushy animals will be posted onto etsy (along with my jewelry) as soon as I take better & more creative pictures of them! :) Keep watching my store and add it to your etsy favorites, maybe? www.coatrackshop.etsy.com

Digital Stitching

I’m trying out some embroidery designs before I actually start embroidering. Smart? i think so. ;)

“Not just a hat rack!” <– bad Seinfeld reference.. heh.
Fyi- Seinfeld was in my ABC check! When did that become a word? Easy, when Seinfeld became an awesome show. :)

Dragons and Crochet Go Together, Don’t They?

COMPLETED PROJECT! Stare at it in all its crocheted glory! :)

It’s a brand new pot holder/ hot pad for Ian’s house (when this house deal finally goes through! its been dragging since Jan.) i used medium weight Grey Wool and a size H hook i think.

i still have to “block” it, so any other views makes it look all wonky warpy.

And a project a made a few months back is this adorable dragon!

(sewing on his belly)

He’s available for sale in my etsy shop!

i bought a ton of supplies these past few days. I’ve got lots of jewelry and embroidery projects floating around my brains! They will make it to my etsy shop as well! check back as often as you’d like!

Also, in other news… my car got rear ended in traffic yesterday. I’m fine, the guy is fine. Just a scratched up bumper for me, and a nice big dent in his grill and cracks for him. I hate the Tappan Zee Bridge. Luckily the guy was very nice and offered up as much help as i needed to get it fixed up. We waited FOR-EV-ERRRR for a NY State Trooper to file the report. ::sigh::

[Warning: Do not take photos while driving in traffic. very dangerous… except when its practically a parking lot. :/ ]

Boye Crochet Kit!

I bought myself this:

and a whole lotta this:

and i hope one day to make myself one of these:

or one of these in my size!:

wish me luck! i’ll post up my progress. :) I’ve been waiting for my yarn to come in the mail.. trying to learn Slip stitches and single crochet stitches with ribbon doesn’t work so well! USPS tracking confirms its at my house! When i get home from work today… it’s on! This Easter weekend, i am in full grandma mode. :)

IF: Adrift

Baby bird couldn’t keep adrift in the wind like mommy…

I couldnt think of a way “Adrift” would make sense, and i didnt want to pick just ANYTHING and force it to fit. :) So.. we have birds in the wind. Mommy is more aerodynamic then clumsy baby bird. Flying wherever the wind takes her…

IF: Muddy

What’s more fun than jumping in the muddy puddles after a nice rain?

Drawn friday night, and colored saturday morning with Colored Pencils. :)

In other news, i won NOTHING in my Superbowl pool at work. :(

Pegah’s Birthday

Hi again! who am i saying hello to?

.. i wonder who actually reads this blog… anyway…

Today is my co-worker/ friend Pegah’s Birthday! :) So i decided to make her a picture in illustrator. :) I drew her neat brown boots with thick socks, long dress/skirt and her awesome scarf from Pakistan. i didnt know the design too well cause its always wrapped around her neck, but i tried. it kind of looks like a Christmas camouflage haha. She liked it very much. :) So here it is. :)
