Blizzard! & Grandmas House

A few weeks ago i went with my father to finish cleaning out my grandmothers old house. Her and my grandfather passed away a bit over 2 years ago now… the house has been up for sale, and finally the closing date in within a few days. We traveled down to Bronx, NY to clean up what was left of important items and paperwork.

I knew we were almost there when i’d see the Whitestone Cinemas Sign. :)

This is the front of the house:

After staring at it for years, this old wooden dresser is finally mine! it has a nice house in my room now. :)

This Ladder i guess leads to the roof, but for as long as i can remember, i swooned over this light fixture in the hallway.

We stopped at St Raymond’s Cemetery to visit my Grandparents on the way home. it was emotional but I’m glad we got to go. The house will now be sold to (i hope!) a very appreciative and loving buyer. :)

This was my morning commute:
*to be clear, i was in 5mph/ stopped traffic, i do not condone taking photos while driving….*

swerved off the road

swerved car #2, its wheel is caught in the rail

my side view mirror

the guy behind me was REALLY close to me

the flash captured my back seat better than the tailgater

i left home at 7:15am… a commute that usually takes 35-40 minutes too 1 hr 45 min. not fun… here were 3 overturned cars. 2 completely upside down and 1 on its side. ALL SUVS.. just because you are a big car, doesn’t mean you are safe from the icy roads!

Have a safe, warm and happy day. :)

Vermont & Random Photos

This weekend i went to Wilmington, Vermont with my family and Ian got to come along!

It was me, my mother, sister, sister boyfriend, Ian and I all in one 4 bed, 2 bath condo. We got there Friday night and Snowmobiled on Saturday morning! The tour guide took a photo of us midway through the trail. From left to right… Ian, Me, my dad, my sister, April and her Boyfriend, Danny. I had a very nice time. :) i LOVE the snow!

This is us at the lodge afterwards enjoying a beer or 2. :) Ian got a Mt. Snow Beer, and i got a Shock Top one. it was belgian white, so it came with an orange. yum! :)

ANNNNNNND… this is my puppy. i love her. Her name is Harley, she is a Daschund. A little over 1 year old. :)

I was a Cat person.. until i got a doggie. <3

IF: Clumsy

Ever want something so badly that you forget to focus?

I do not have Adobe Illustrator at home, All of my illustrations are done on my lunch break at work. :) i had this idea but I wasn’t happy with how it was coming out during lunch time… so i went home and thought about it more. After wishing i had Illustrator at home, i glanced at my colored pencils…. and attempted to draw it out by hand (not intending to actually SUBMIT my shoddy workmanship)… but Alas!

This was done with sketch paper and Prismacolor Colored Pencils (so smooth!). :) i think i’ve gotten better at shading and coloring, (the actual line drawing needs much work now!)

Thank you to my wonderful teacher. <3

Pegah’s Birthday

Hi again! who am i saying hello to?

.. i wonder who actually reads this blog… anyway…

Today is my co-worker/ friend Pegah’s Birthday! :) So i decided to make her a picture in illustrator. :) I drew her neat brown boots with thick socks, long dress/skirt and her awesome scarf from Pakistan. i didnt know the design too well cause its always wrapped around her neck, but i tried. it kind of looks like a Christmas camouflage haha. She liked it very much. :) So here it is. :)

Winter Wonderland

Hello Again!
It seems people are posting all about their New Year’s resolutions. i didn’t have any ONE in mind… just a few thoughts here and there to keep with me

– Be less indecisive.. with EVERYTHING.
– Be MORE crafty, and Do the projects that i keep saying i want to.
– Sew more clothes from patterns. (which i guess goes with the above one)
– Travel more (as much as i can while still living under my mother’s rules)
– Stop and Smell the Roses. I’m always moving, or being lazy. i want a happy medium.
– Go BACK to the gym! excuse time is over! :P

So far i’ve accomplished none. :) but January is still young! I will be going to Vermont some time this month, so that’s a travel, and Ian and I have many crafty ideas planned. Also gym days planned. :) haha.

On an unrelated note….. its a SMALL WORLD. Okay, so I am from Rockland County, NY.. and Ian is from West Milford, NJ. We are roughly about 1 hour away from each other.
His ancestors LIVED in my town, and are BURIED in a cemetery 5 minutes from my house. :) How crazy is that??
So while exploring, we went to this pond (since the snow is melting, and it rained, the pond was a river). It’s called Ambrey’s Pond (which is also a last name of one of his relatives.) The walk was lovely, and the waterfall was beautiful! We raced chunks of ice down the stream to see who’s goes over the ledge first. :)

That’s Ian’s back.

Also, Back in August, i sewed up this nifty skirt for a birthday party. :) i want to make more like it! it was fun to make, and super easy to do. It’s late, but it connects to my New Year’s Suggestions…

Another mini resolution, see more friends, and be more outgoing! I got to do another photoshoot with my Friend Alex Somma, and Alex Donato.

Alex and i setting the scene, with stuffing from Michael's, and stick on snowflakes!

BLURRY! but thats good, nothings spoiled. When i get the clear photos, i'll post them up!

Got any silly or Serious Resolutions?
